I was born in the Gagauzian region of Moldova. I spent my youth in the village of Cazayak. Since childhood, I was surrounded by both the old and modern traditional cultures of my native Gagauzia. I grew up with a broad knowledge of many cultures including Moldovian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Russian and Gypsy, which deeply influenced my inner world and are reflected in my paintings. My first teacher, Petrov Dmitri Ilich and my dear friend since childhood, Sasha Fazli, greatly inspired my work. The time I spent with them has been reflected in my paintings. My painting named Dialogue is dedicated to my friend and colleague. My art education began in Chadir-Lunga. I later moved to Comrat where Peter Vlah, a great teacher of Decorative Art taught. Then Dmitri Savastin, my dear friend and the first recognized Gagauzian artist, inspired me to embrace and learn more about Oguzian culture and art. He advised me to go to Azerbaijan, a country that had given birth to many great artists. In Baku, I attended the Azim Azim-Zade art college for two years. During my studies there, a local war broke out and had a deep affect on me. I had to pursue my future education in Turkey, where I graduated from the Mimar-Sinan University of the Arts under the supervision of Neshe Erdok, an instructor of Figurative Art. Seeking change, I went to London, England for two years even though I had already been accepted for a Masters degree in Turkey. In London, I spent a great deal of time in the National Museum of England where I observed and studied the ancient worldwide masters. My life changed when I met my wife Leila and we both came to Canada seeking personal growth. I now live and work in Toronto and am looking forward to professional triumph. I welcome art dealers to work together with me to achieve successful art-oriented goals.
